Welcome to the Computer Science Framework!
With the implementation of the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Computer Science (OAS-CS), the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has prioritized providing educators with the tools and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality computer science education to Oklahoma students. This framework is designed to support educators with a clear vision and resources that promote effective and meaningful implementation of the standards in classrooms across Oklahoma.
The OSDE worked closely with Oklahoma educators to develop phase 1 of the Computer Science Framework. This phase marks the initial effort to create and refine the framework, which includes a comprehensive standard analysis for each OAS-CS. These analyses consist of the following components:
-
Standard in a Nutshell: A brief summary that captures the essence and objectives of each standard.
-
Student Actions: Descriptions of what students should be doing to demonstrate understanding.
-
Teacher Actions: Guidelines for educators on how to facilitate student learning and support the achievement of the standards.
-
Key Concepts: Essential ideas and principles that are central to the standard.
-
Misconceptions: Common misunderstandings that students may have and how educators can address them.
As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in education, this framework will be regularly updated and improved based on feedback and the needs of educators and students.
| Note | The OSDE will continue to collaborate with Oklahoma educators to further enhance and expand the Computer Science Framework. If you have any questions, please email Jeremy.Maker@sde.ok.gov.
